Nesting

...

I felt like these pictures needed to be introduced with nothing more than themselves. Normally nesting has this fabulous cozy quality to the word that makes me think of moving into our new house and getting ready for this babe. But now, I cannot hear 'nesting' and not shudder. Because this rodent has been nesting - under our dishwasher, just as I expected.

That's right, nesting. As in with the insulation from our dishwasher, 8 pairs of my underwear from out of my laundry basket (including one pair that was not mine...anyone missing some?), 4 or 5 socks, a shirt that I just wore this past weekend (ew recentness of rodent being in my laundry!), all the steel wool I kept putting back there, and elephant sized droppings!

Freshly vacuumed out with the fabulous Dyson wand and equipped with enough poison and large rat traps, we are praying to catch this thing and its family TONIGHT FOLKS. Stay tuned.

Ahem... Seeing as how one of your little friends, as you recall, has spent some time in my favorite travel bag (which I'm considering BURNING), I have a sinking feeling it is probably my underwear you found. And now I will be sick. EWW.

Ellen! I was checking in to see if by ANY chance you were at the juncture where you could find out what you are having. The minute I saw your first picture....SQUEAL...I knew exactly what was to come. Then, the second picture again. Double SQUEAL. Rodents are my biggest phobia in THE WORLD. I H-A-T-E them. We had a similar experience...stove insulation...dishwasher insulation. Ours turned out to be rodents of a smaller size...mice. Yours, my pretty, sounds to be quite larger and smarter. Perhaps of the rat persuasion. I feel every bit of your pain and more. Hotel it ASAP. You need to protect your sweet pea from it's NASTY germs. Ever seen that show Verminators on Discovery? That's who you need to call!!!!!
